CRYPTO ART

Easy life in your hand

All artistic expressions are an expression of the soul. I have always been fascinated by art and its many forms.
Architecture, design, and all the materials that human ingenuity has produced and produces are also an artistic expression.
Painting and the various artistic movements that have followed and evolved over the centuries have pushed me to always try to look at a painting with the eye of its creator. In particular, I have been increasingly attracted to the artistic movements that gave birth to contemporary art: Poor Art, Pop Art, Minimalism, Neo-Impressionism, Expressionism, Fauves, Cubism, and many others.
Over time, artists have found more and more innovative and disruptive methods to express themselves. This is exactly what fascinates me: speaking through forms. Say with colors. If we then combine technology (which is another of my passions) with the creation of artistic forms, the possibilities multiply indefinitely.

That’s why it was almost natural for me to express myself through the creation of digital and virtual works. Cryptoart was born towards the end of 2010.

Encephalic Waves

Cryptoart has expanded thanks to the possibility of certifying, tracing, and encrypting a digital artwork by registering it on the Blockchain. The Blockchain is an open and distributed database, in which every type of digital transaction is recorded.

This feature makes the digital artwork unique. It is precisely from this uniqueness that its value derives. Thanks again to the evolution of the Blockchain, in 2013 the NFT (Non Fungible Token) was born. An NFT is a uniquely collectible digital file with metadata, and allows to identify ownership, traceability, and value of the work.

An NFT is therefore a token which contains all the characteristics that distinguish a specific artwork and which, thanks to a smart contract system, automatically ensures that “payment” and “delivery” of the token take place at the same time. So, the artist absolutely receives the compensation and the buyer absolutely receives the artwork. In most cases, the transactions take place on specific marketplaces, and the payment is in cryptocurrency (recently a famous marketplace has allowed to buy NFTs with credit card).

As a result, even if a digital work can be copied perfectly with a screenshot, it will never have the same value as the original. NFTs serve exactly to certify this: the uniqueness and ownership of a digital element, different from any possible copy.

As to digital art, I am not a supporter of “maximum sharpness (or “resolution” possible). On the contrary, I like low-resolution images, those that, when enlarged, reveal the pixels. After all, pixels are the soul of digital art. They need to be seen in order to remind us of the source, the one that gives life to all digital graphic creations. It is as if to say that a loaf of bread is perfect we said that it should not have any traces of flour on the outside. Instead, the flour on the bread reminds you of the creator principle. It is very nice to take the bread in your hand and get dirty with flour.

I have transformed several of my creations (in some cases, I have merged my music with my digital creations) into NFTs. You can explore on the following pages and on Opensea.io the marketplace where I have my collections.
